Charming Wedding in Ravello, Amalfi Coast
With their favourite family and friends in tow, Lisa and Greg from New York travelled to Ravello – a stunning mountainside town perched on Italy’s Amalfi Coast - for the wedding of their dreams!
Old-world Italian charm weaved through every element of Lisa and Greg’s gorgeous celebration, from their historical location choices to the smaller details, such as their suite of illustrated wedding stationery.
Lisa, a venue owner, and her fiancé Greg chose Duomo di Ravello (the Cathedral of Ravello) for their traditional catholic ceremony. After luxurious bridal preparations overlooking the sparkling sea, the bridal party and groomsmen wove their way through narrow stone streets to the beautiful ancient church on the central piazza.
Lisa looked sublime in a two-piece wedding outfit with embellished top and tiered skirt. She completed the look with a beautiful vintage style hair band, long veil and sparkling peep toe shoes. The couple kept their church décor simple with white candles and floral arrangements of white roses, peonies, and silvery-green olive foliage.
Guests, young and old, beamed as the couple exchanged their dreamy hand-written vows. After the ceremony, the jubilant wedding party danced through the streets accompanied by an Italian wedding band.
Their destination? The jaw-dropping Villa Cimbrone, an 11th century manor house, and our couple’s fabulous reception venue!
While Lisa and Greg took part in a dreamy photo shoot, guests enjoyed Aperitivo hour in the villa’s magical gardens. As well as sipping champagne and exploring the grounds, guests had handmade Italian sandals crafted while they wait – the perfect gesture for helping guests relax, sit back and literally kick off their shoes!
The couple’s wedding meal was held beneath the Gothic stone archways of the villa’s crypt. The classic theme continued with gorgeous floral centrepieces of white roses and peonies and blush tulips.
Gold candelabras provided the finishing touch. After dinner – a variety of gourmet Italian dishes - the evening ended with an epic dance party. Heels kicked off and bow ties loosened, the wedding party danced until the small hours.
