And it is this magnificent location that Sara and Adam decided was their dream destination wedding venue in Italy, with a little help from our wedding planners!

 

Sara and Adam are lifelong friends. Soulmates, that grew up together, learned about the world together and eventually decided that they were the one for each other. They never had an official first date, but they certainly knew something was blossoming after a wild night in Chicago feasting on seafood, and sipping dirty Martinis. An engagement was a natural progression for them. And as soon as Adam had popped the question, they were planning their dream destination wedding in Italy. When they contacted our wedding planners, the couple were unsure of where in Italy they wanted to tie the knot. Which was not a problem for us! We love to plan from scratch! Once we had got to know Sara and Adam, we soon realized that a wedding in Lake Como would suit them perfectly. More specifically Villa del Balbianello.

Villa del Balbianello is located in the town of Lenno, and was constructed in 1787. It has passed through many notable owners through the years, all of which have left their creative mark. However now, it is cared for by the National Trust of Italy. It has been featured in many Hollywood movies, and played host to countless high-profile weddings. And it is impossible not to understand why. The villa’s gardens are beyond magnificent, with incomparable views of Lake Como and its rolling hills.

 

The famous American writer Ralph Waldo Emerson once said ‘It’s not the Destination, It’s the Journey’, and he could’ve been talking about Villa del Balbianello. Because this beautiful Lake Como wedding venue is best reached via a charming river boat ride. And so on the morning of Sara and Adam’s wedding in Italy, our planners arranged for elegant boats to escort the happy couple, and their guests to the ceremony. The journey was fabulous, with views stretching out across the lake, sound tracked by the sound of gentle waves bumping against the boat. Upon arriving ashore, and whilst taking the short walk-up to Villa del Balbianello, the guests were amazed at the sight of the venue. Its sheer majesty even more spectacular than they had previously imagined.
