Fabulous Wedding at Villa Balbiano on Lake Como

Ryan proposed to Chelsea during a romantic sailboat trip in Washington. Dropping anchor in a secluded cove, the adventurous couple decided to practise their drone flying skills. “I was dipping my toes in the water when Ryan came over to me and proposed while getting it all on video!” Chelsea says.

Self-confessed foodies who love Italian cuisine, wine and culture, the couple set their sights on stunning Lake Como for their August wedding.

Fun-Infused Italian Wedding

When discussing the vision for their wedding, our couple pictured two things – their guests having an absolute ball and a beautiful venue.

From the beginning, they were drawn to Villa Balbiano, a luxurious lakeside villa with gardens overlooking Lake Como.

Three-Day Extravaganza

With guests coming from across the world, Chelsea and Ryan wanted to give them a true taste of ‘la dolce vita’. Together we planned a sensory journey, absorbing different scenery, tastes and music.

Celebrations started with a cocktail reception at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo – a chic Art Nouveau hotel – followed by the couple’s outdoor ceremony and reception at Villa Balbiano. On the last day, the couple hosted an awesome farewell pool party and brunch.

Elegant Lakeside Wedding

Chelsea and Ryan exchanged vows in the villa’s spectacular lakeside garden. Desiring an earthy, Italian garden vibe, the aisle was decorated with peach and cream roses.

Chelsea’s flowing boho gown fitted the late summer setting beautifully. The party dined under a vine-covered pergola twinkling with chandeliers and glitter balls – a hint at the epic dancing to come.
